You know, the holidays are almost over ( thank God ), and it’s about that time to start thinking about the upcoming year. If you, like myself, however; made the awful decision to go overboard on your gifting this late Christmas holiday, then you are probably going to start off the new year paying back the dirty.
[Enter Flexi Compras]
Now, in this short post ( I will be including a substantially lengthier FC post in the near future ), I am actually going to be writing in brief response to a post made by another blogger on the same topic: Kate? of somethingaboutkate.com
You can find her Flexi Compras post here, and a follow up post here.
Yeah so, like any smart shopper, I did a little “research” on the whole Flexi Compras bit. Thanks to Kate, I ended up really deliberating whether or not I should go through with the whole online Flexi Compras application. In Kate’s case, she was offered a 1.8 percent interest on a MacBook she was planning on purchasing. Obviously, this must have sounded like a pretty bitchin’ deal. If you have been down this road before, and are familiar with belittling credit rejection letters, then you would probably know that a rate like Kate’s is probably off the deep end.
Anyway, it doesn’t require much effort to discover that financing through one of these companies is going to cost at least double whatever you’d pay for a product in cash. In fact, I don’t believe that Flexi Compras in particular tried too hard to hide it. Sure, of course their first pitch is to drive customers in; who’s isn’t? The reality is, I really did want the doo-hickey right now! The reps there didn’t piss around either, they gave me the numbers and didn’t hassle me about it! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not praising their customer service ( more on that later ), but in person, I think they give it to you straight.
Bottom line: if you can’t afford to save up for the full cost of the product, check them out. Yeah, you’re going to be paying out the wah-zoo for it, but hey, at least someone offered to finance your butt without pointing fingers at you and your c-score.
Ahem. I am JUST on the Compras Cruise, and am sure there’s still plenty of time for them to throw me overboard. I am aware, however; that Kate’s post is a little dated, and am not giving her any beef ~obviously~. I really did find her post to be informative on pulling the trigger.
If you’re thinking of financing through Flexi, stay tuned for an in depth post on the personal contract on my Samsung Galaxy Tab, I just picked up from ‘em.
Time to plan my bills!
